Project description and context:

Crossroads International will engage Canadians, Canadian stakeholders, Crossroads staff and volunteers, local partner organizations and women and men in sub-Saharan Africa to become Gender Equality Champions both in Canada and overseas.

The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) aims to reduce gender inequalities and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and influence.

Description of the partner

Bantwana Initiative Eswatini (Bantwana) is a local non-governmental organization working to improve the well-being of vulnerable children and youth. Bantwana was an initiative of World Education (WE), which is a division of JSI. Bantwana has been receiving communication and branding support from WE, including email, social media, and internal communication platforms. However, with the merger of WE and JSI, and in line with the localization drive, Bantwana is increasingly expected to manage its communication and branding requirements and is now more a standalone organisation.

Description the volunteer mandate

Bantwana’ s communication needs work, and its impactful work is going unseen and unheard, and by extension, under-funded. Bantwana seeks to improve its visual identity and marketing communication, including developing a communication and/or social media strategy, and enhancing support for the curation of social media content. This will enable Bantwana to revamp its communication, increase brand awareness, enhance engagement with its community, and grow its brand as a catalyst for fundraising and enabler for positioning.
