A SUCCESSFUL NEW EDUCATIONAL APPROACH in THE DAMCAM PROJECT
Mobile Learning Labs (MLLs) represent a significant advancement in the field of education, offering innovative and accessible learning opportunities, particularly for adolescents. In Kédougou, a region located in the far southeast of Senegal, these labs, established by Crossroads International through the My Voice My Health (DAMCAM) project, serve as essential tools for improving education, primarily in the field of reproductive health.
Kédougou, known for its cultural diversity and rich heritage, faces educational challenges, particularly regarding access to quality education and reproductive health services. The Mobile Learning Labs introduced in this region aim to address this situation by providing modern and technological educational solutions, especially in reproductive health.
THE CONCEPT OF MOBILE LEARNING LABS
Mobile Learning Labs are equipped spaces with modern educational technologies, consisting of a Rachel server, tablets, solar installations for energy independence, an electrical storage and tablet charging cabinet, as well as interactive educational software. These tools allow learners to access a variety of educational resources tailored to their needs, enhancing their interactive and engaging learning experience in reproductive health, gender equality, rights, and various related subjects. The DAMCAM project, funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Crossroads International, installed a total of fifteen labs in the three departments of the Kédougou region since 2022.
