Crossroads International will engage Canadians, Canadian stakeholders, Crossroads staff and volunteers, local partner organizations and women and men in sub-Saharan Africa to become Gender Equality Champions both in Canada and overseas.
The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) aims to reduce gender inequalities and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and influence.
Description of the partner
The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA-Uganda) is one of the leading women’s rights organizations in Uganda and the pioneer of legal aid and public legal education in sub-Saharan Africa. Formed in 1974, FIDA-Uganda has an established track record of promoting and defending human rights, with a focus on the rights of women with children as beneficiaries of this work. In particular, FIDA-Uganda seeks to promote human rights standards as established in international, regional, and national human rights instruments and uses a feminist and rights-based approach in order to address the underlying causes of abuse, including patriarchy, injustice, and exclusion.
Therefore, FIDA-Uganda is requesting an IT and Knowledge Management Officer who will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our information systems to advance our vision, mission, goals, and programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing IT systems, ensuring data security, supporting the effective management and sharing of knowledge, and providing staff with the necessary tools and training to maximize our knowledge management capacity. Additionally, they will be tasked with implementing digital solutions to improve operational efficiency, tracking and reporting on data related to our programs, and ensuring that the organization’s information management systems are aligned with its mission of promoting women’s rights and empowering marginalized groups. |
