Main Responsibilities
- Support staff in developing M&E plan for the organization
- Support the implementation of policies or organizational measures, including a standardized M&E operating procedures, data quality assurance protocols and M&E ethical conducts
- Support staff in adapting improved M&E tools
- Training on improved Data collection tools
- Development of Data system management
Qualifications
- Undergraduate university degree (or equivalent) in Social sciences, International development
- At least 2 years of experience working in the M&E Field
- Strong analytical skills, including the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, as well as extensive experience with information management systems.
- Solid understanding of computer programs, M&E tools, and databases
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Interest in working with development projects
Project description and context:
Crossroads International will engage Canadians, Canadian stakeholders, Crossroads staff and volunteers, local partner organizations and women and men in sub-Saharan Africa to become Gender Equality Champions both in Canada and overseas.
The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP) aims to reduce gender inequalities and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and influence.
Description of the partner
Zanzibar Fighting Against Youth Challenges Organization (ZAFAYCO) is a non-profit and youth-serving organization based in Zanzibar that works to bring together Zanzibar’s youth to solve existing challenges by realizing and mobilizing their talents and potentials in the spirit of promoting socioeconomic development. ZAFAYCO was established in 2011 under Societies Act No.6 of 1995.
Eligibility criteria
*Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Willing to conduct fundraising and public engagement activities before, during and after the placement
- Share the commitment of preventing and addressing sexual misconduct
- In good physical and mental health (medical examination required)
- The volunteer needs to bring their own computer.
- The volunteer must be available to attend an online pre-departure training
Personalized support before, during and after the mandate provided by an experienced and welcoming team. The Crossroads’ experience includes the following:
- Daily living allowance (depending of the country of assignment)
- Plane ticket and local transport
- Medical insurance and vaccinations
- Pre-assignment online training.
